3. Antioxidant the power behind anti-aging supplements
Who doesn’t like the idea of fighting the effects of aging? Lets face it, we all pretty much want to live as long as possible, so the idea of anti-aging supplements is a pretty attractive one. Well, if you’ve been taking anti-aging supplements and hoping to live forever, I have some bad news for you; you can’t stop aging. The phrase ‘anti-aging supplement’ is pretty much a marketing ploy to play on that universal desire to stop the aging process, and you’re going to get old no matter what you do. Hopefully everyone knows this, but I just wanted to remind you in case you forgot.

The good news is there are certainly things out there that can slow some of the effects of aging down. You can avoid too much sunlight or wear sunscreen a lot, you can get a lot of antioxidants in your diet and generally eat right, and you can get some regular exercise. Also, avoiding stress, smoking or excessive drinking, and getting enough sleep every night helps a lot as well. So what the heck is in anti-aging supplements anyway? Your guess is as good as mine. Every anti-aging supplement I’ve seen has had a different and unique list of ingredients, and some of them are just plain bizarre. The only things that seem to be common denominators in the anti-aging supplements I’ve seen advertised on TV or across the internet are indeed vitamins and antioxidants.

By taking a multivitamin everyday and eating plenty of fruit and vegetables you get all of the same things anyway; its funny that as soon as their put into a pill form they become an ‘anti-aging supplement’. For the most part, I think the label anti-aging supplement is just an excuse to charge a lot more for some vitamin compounds that would otherwise be fairly cheap to get on their own.

One type of anti-aging supplement that may have some serious promise is HGH, or human growth hormone. While its far too early to tell, from what I’ve read and heard it looks like a treatment with HGH pills could have a lot of anti-aging effects. Unfortunately, its going to be awhile before its effect on adults in an anti-aging supplement capacity is going to be fully studied and understood, so don’t get too excited just yet. 14. Its about time for more Heart Healthy Foods
What is your favorite place to eat? If I ask my daughter this question, she always says the same thing. I would think her opinion would change rather frequently, but she always replies with McDonalds. Even though we only go there once in a blue moon, she still praises its happy meals and soft drinks. However, one thing I did notice the last time we passed through their drive-thru was the after-math. I'm talking about what happened with my daughter's stomach after she ate that chicken nugget happy meal. She basically had a tummy ache. Now that's no fun at all. Certainly not what you see advertised on the commercials. Although at first I thought she ate too much, my family doctor later pointed something out to me. Fast food is horrible! Since we only hit up a fast food joint a few times each year, my daughter's body pretty much rejected it. We plain and simply weren't meant to eat that stuff. It's basically poison for our bodies. It's time for some nutritious, heart healthy diets. Things have got to change.

Do you focus on good heart healthy diets each and every day? You know, your life could depend on it. Not to mention the lives of your other family members. Not to be insulting, but I've certainly noticed something about families in the last couple years. Overweight parents have overweight children. It makes me so sad to see a seven year old that's already way overweight. It all goes back to the parents. They're the one responsible for providing heart healthy diets for their little ones. Sure we can blame all the fast food chains all we want. But, the fact is we choose what we consume. It's time to stop being lazy and start eating healthy. This way they will have no problem continuing the heart healthy diets as they age. Things you want to be sure and avoid in your meals are loads of fat, salt, sugar, and cholesterol. None of these are good for your body. Focus more on protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals. These are the very building blocks for heart healthy diets. 15. The Question is Chinese herbal medicine or Not
Chinese herbal medicine is very popular today, and is becoming more and more popular all the time. The Chinese culture has a sort of mystical and mysterious shroud around it, which has led many westerners to feel that they have many answers to things that we don’t, especially with respect to health. After all, if a people have been using a remedy for thousands of years, it has to be good, right? Well, I’m not so convinced. Certainly, some Chinese herbal medicines are no doubt effective. However, very little scientific study has been done on the vast majority of them, and I’m a little skeptical of things not rigorously tested for harmful side effects. Taking something untested is a risky crapshoot; sure, it could be really good for you, but it could also be doing all kinds of permanent damage. In my opinion, its not really worth the risk for common every day ailments, as there are plenty of proven and tested medicines available. Of course if you have something more serious, you’re probably more willing to take risks. Studying biology in college, the one thing I learned without doubt is that herbal and natural don’t always mean good or safe. Chinese herbal medicines are often exalted as being totally natural and therefore entirely safe, but many people seem to forget that the most deadly substances known to man are likewise entirely natural. I don’t mean to scare you away from ever trying a Chinese herbal medicine. Just be careful when you go looking for one, and select things that have had at least some amount of studies done on them. As a vast, ancient, and hugely populated part of the world, China no doubt does indeed have some effective remedies, but the label ‘Chinese herbal medicine’ should never be considered a guarantee for safety. The one Chinese herbal medicine I do subscribe to is their teas. While they’re maybe not medicines in the traditional sense, drinking lots of green or black tea has been linked to a lot of positive health effects, including lower risk of cancer and longer lifespan. The tea plant has been proven to contain many different antioxidants which have these positive health effects. A lot of Chinese herbal medicines also contain some amount of tea extracts, which are very likely good for you. For some households lose weight exercise plans seems to only be a dream. This material could benefit you giving the mind set to start losing those unwanted pounds. I have been on a number of diet and exercise programs over the years and I have achieved the most success through a common everyday activity. Walking and weight loss go hand-in-hand. It may seem too simple to be true, but I have more success losing weight and keeping weight off through a walking program than I do on a structured exercise program. I have lost more through a walking program than through dieting as well. I discovered the walking and weight loss connection while I was a student in college. Before I started a walking program in school, the idea of walking and weight loss being so closely tied together did not occur to me. Instead, I tried changing my diet. I ate salads at nearly every meal. I had no breakfast and I did not really have a whole meal until the evening. I probably only took in about nine hundred calories each day, but I did not see very good results. I had to think back to a time when I was fit to make the walking and weight loss connection. I was a heavy student in high school and I dieted a lot. One diet was very successful for me during the end of my high school career. I was involved in an after school program that I attended every day. Since I could not ride the bus home from school, I simply walked the two mile commute home five days a week. I did not consider this an actual walking program, but it really was. The only differences between my lifestyle in high school and in college were that I ate more and I walked almost every day.
